Know Your Kneck for iPhone
Effective October 26, 2026

Know Your Kneck is a fretboard note trainer made by Erik Fong. This policy explains what the iPhone app does with your information. The short version: it doesn't collect any.

What the app collects

Nothing. The app has no account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. It doesn't use any third-party code that collects data.

What stays on your phone

To remember your setup and progress, the app saves these on your iPhone only:

  • Your instrument, strings, tuning, fret range, hand, wood, sounds, appearance and other settings
  • Your practice history: which spots you've missed, your streaks, accuracy and answer times
  • Your daily reminder time, if you turn the reminder on

This information never leaves your phone, and we can't see it. Deleting the app deletes it. You can also clear your history any time in Settings › Stats › Reset history.

Daily reminders

If you turn on the daily practice reminder, iOS asks for permission to show notifications. The reminder is scheduled on your phone; nothing is sent to us or anyone else. You can turn it off in the app or in the iPhone Settings app.

Feedback

When you send feedback from the Feedback tab, the app opens your own email app with a message addressed to hellocleveland@theresonly12notes.com. The message includes what you wrote, plus your instrument, tuning and app version so we can help. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send that email. We use feedback emails only to reply and to improve the app, and we don't share them.

Tips

Tips are optional in-app purchases handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, Apple Account or payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to purchases: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Links to other websites

Some screens link to outside websites, such as the source of a quote. Those open in Safari, and that website's own privacy policy applies.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
